What Is The Difference Between Distillation And Extraction?

Extraction in the edible oil refinery comprises numerous processes. Inside  the solvent extractor, solids  comprising flakes from the flaking machines or cakes from the pre-presses) are moved through the conveyor equipment, and  while a mixture of hexane and oil (miscella) is positioned to  spray during the movement. This leads to the  production  of  deoiled solids containing solvent and miscella in the  extractor . Usually extraction requires  additional steps  compared to others in case  the solvent needs recycling.
As the leading player in offering 360o solutions to the edible oil industry, Mectech offers innovation for total customized solutions.

THE MECTECH ADVANTAGE
The customized   belt type horizontal extractor, desolventizing toaster, distillation system and heat recovery system have extremely high efficiency and ensure   the best of performance in terms of quality of oil, quality of DOC. The consumption of inputs as well as the amount of   hexane loss is also minimal
      Requires Minimum field interruption
    Scheduling  compression
    Finest  recovery rates

Distillation:

Distillation System acts efficiently  to  separating mixture and is versatile enough to utilized  in numerous types of applications. It is entirely a physical process for separation and hence is more eco friendly. The process itself depends  entirely on the differential  boiling points  in the miscible fluids and the one  with very low boiling point  is best suited  as vapors will be richer. In physical refining, the fatty acids are removed by steam distillation -a process called stripping process that closely resembles deodorisation. The low volatility of fatty acids (depending upon chain length) makes higher temperatures  a prerequisite  in physical refining as compared to that required for   deodorisation. Usually,   a maximum temperature of 240-250°C sufficiently  reduces  the free fatty acid content to nearly  0.05-0.1 percent.
